Girard-Perregaux Casquette Only Watch Edition

For this year’s Only Watch donation,Girard-Perregaux Casquette Only Watch Edition has collaborated with Bamford Watch Department. Together they created a reinterpretation of the Casquette, one of Girard-Perregaux’s most iconic 70s timepieces. The Casquette Only Watch revisits the original but adds a notably modern twist.
While the sapphire glass and LED display share the same look as the 1976 original, the edition is equipped with a new quartz movement. It displays hours, minutes, seconds and date as found on the 1976 model, however, it also includes a second time zone, a chronograph and a secret date function.
This new one-of-a-kind creation features a forged carbon & titanium case. The watch is presented on a calf leather strap embossed with an alligator effect and secured with a black ceramic buckle featuring titanium blades.
Created exclusively for Only Watch 2021, this unique timepiece is presented in a Casquette- inspired presentation sae, designed and produced by Bamford Watch Department.
The biennial Only Watch charity auction for Duchenne muscular dystrophy is always one of the most anticipated and exciting events for watch collectors and hobbyists. This year, 53 brands will have their one-off timepieces auctioned on November 6th in Geneva. You’ll remember that the last Only Watch in 2019 had the Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300A that sold for a record-breaking CHF31 million and, though I doubt that record will be broken this year, it’s very likely that Patek may end up atop the field again this year — but with a desk clock.
Luxury watchmaker Girard Pelego today announced the release of the already popular Laureato Chronograph, the absolutely amazing version of the Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition. In this case, GP worked with Aston Martin Lagonda to create this new product.

Chronographs are generally in great demand this year, and along with the trendy green dial, both combinations are certainly winners in the watch lovers’ circle. I have personally focused on the Laureato chronograph as an alternative to the Rolex Daytona. After all, you’re getting luxury watchmaker craftsmanship for about half the price of the Gray Market stainless steel Daytona 116500.
