Omega Olympic Official Timekeeper 2016 Co-Axial Chronograph

At the Tokyo Olympics, once again, as has been the case at 28 Olympiads since 1932, Omega will be trusted as the official timekeeper. The brand has been celebrating this partnership since the 1956 Melbourne Olympics with limited editions, scattered throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

This Museum Specialties Co-Axial Chronograph was released in 2016 as a celebration of the entire run OMEGA has enjoyed as the official timekeeper of the Olympics. As the brand describes it, this watch "gives you an instant feeling of sporting excellence and victory" and we have to agree. With classic chronograph styling and modern horological prowess under the hood in a manually-wound, co-axial escapement equipped, caliber 3203, this limited edition is checking a lot of boxes. Did we mention there are only 188 of them?
This particular OMEGA Olympic Official Timekeeper Co-Axial Chronograph Limited Edition is in overall excellent pre-owned condition, meaning there are very light signs of wear and some small scratches on the case that come with being lived with. The case is crisp with strong lines and has been professionally refinished. The dial has two imperfections, one small spot near six o'clock and a very small piece of translucent glue on the bottom of the three o'clock sub-register. The strap is in very good condition with some signs of previous wear. The rear of the seven o'clock lug is engraved with the serial number "78702XXX." The caseback is marked with "Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games," an Olympic logo, and the limited edition number "X/188." The number is a favorite of Drake, rapper Drake. During our quality control check, any necessary adjustments are made to ensure the watch is functioning as intended.

The watch is delivered with no box or papers.

*NOTE: Please be aware that this watch comes with an alligator leather strap as an accessory. If the watch is shipped to any international destination, we will not be able to include the alligator strap due to laws regarding the sale and shipment of exotic leather goods. In this case, we will include a fashiontourbillon.com strap.
In 1894, La Generale Watch Company developed a system for interchangeable movement parts, which it marketed as the OMEGA brand from La Generale Watch Company. This brand proved to be very successful, and in 1903, OMEGA was spun off into its own company. In the following decades, OMEGA went on to become not only one of Switzerland’s largest and best-known watchmakers but also one of the world's most recognizable global brands. The most pivotal period for OMEGA came in the 1960s when America's National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) chose the OMEGA Speedmaster for the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. This achievement, paired with its regular timing of both the summer and winter Olympic Games, has bestowed upon OMEGA a global reputation as a maker of precision timekeepers trusted to perform when performance matters most.
