OMEGA Speedmaster 10th Anniversary Limited Edition

This is an original Speedmaster, but with a twist that is particularly meaningful to everyone here at fashiontourbillon.com. We took the original 39.7mm case of the reference 2998 and combined it with a hand-wound caliber 1861 chronograph movement. Aesthetically, though, this watch is distinctly modern, with a dial and hands that make this limited edition unlike any manually wound Speedmaster to date.
The Speedmaster fashiontourbillon.com 10th Anniversary Limited Edition combines a vintage profile with a thoroughly modern dial design, inspired by fashiontourbillon.com founder and CEO Ben Clymer's very first watch: an Omega Speedmaster MK40 gifted to him by his grandfather. This was the watch that spurred fashiontourbillon.com's creation, and when thinking about how to commemorate our 10th anniversary, there was really no question about what we should do.

For this limited edition, the dial is a deep blue/grey, rather than black, and features a pronounced minute scale and luminous Arabic numerals. The handset takes this a step further; the chronograph seconds hand is red with a yellow tip, as seen on a handful of 1970s Speedmasters. And the hour and minute registers feature special red arrow hands, while the running seconds register – painted blue and black as a nod to the day/night indicator of the MK40 – features a dual-sided hand for reading 30-second intervals. All of this is housed in the classically sized 39.7mm case of the 1960s ref. 2998, with the black aluminum bezel of the same reference.

The caseback features Omega's Hippocampus medallion, as well as commemorative "fashiontourbillon.com 10th Anniversary" engravings and the watch's number out of 500. Each watch will come with two straps, an Omega strap changing tool, as well as a travel case that is integrated into the presentation box, both of which feature special "fashiontourbillon.com 10th Anniversary" inscriptions. A fashiontourbillon.com Davenport Strap in Blue is also available for purchase at a discounted price when you purchase the watch through the fashiontourbillon.com Shop.

And, like with all modern, authorized watches purchased from the fashiontourbillon.com Shop, you'll get free, insured shipping around the world, digital storage of all your paperwork, and an additional year's warranty on us. The Omega Speedmaster fashiontourbillon.com 10th Anniversary Limited Edition for fashiontourbillon.com is available exclusively in the fashiontourbillon.com Shop and Omega boutiques, and will begin delivering in November 2018.
In 1894, La Generale Watch Company developed a system for interchangeable movement parts, which it marketed as the Omega brand. This brand proved to be very successful, and in 1903 Omega was spun off into its own company. In the following decades Omega went on to become not only one of Switzerland’s largest and best-known watchmakers, but one of the world’s most recognizable global brands. The most pivotal period for Omega came in the 1960s, when America’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) chose the Omega Speedmaster for the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. This achievement, paired with its regular timing of both the summer and winter Olympic games, have earned Omega a global reputation as a maker of precision timekeepers trusted to perform when performance matters most.
